This site ranks twelve crypto casinos for Canadian players. This page explains how that ranking is produced, who produces it, what the site earns money from, and — the part most pages like this leave out — what it does not know.

What we do and do not check

Every operator profile is built from three kinds of source: the licence register that issued the licence, the operator’s own current terms and conditions, and dated complaint cases from independent databases. Licences are looked up in the register itself rather than read off the badge in a casino’s footer, which is how we found that one of the twelve displays a certificate the register lists as revoked.

What we have not done is play with our own money at these operators. Two exceptions are documented and dated on this site; the other ten operators are covered from published sources only, and the pages say so. That is also why the comparison table has no payout-speed column: every figure available for it came from other people’s reviews rather than from an operator’s terms or a timed withdrawal, so the column came out instead of being printed with a footnote.

The five criteria

Operators are scored out of five on whether the money comes back, whether the licence resolves in the register that issued it, what the terms actually publish, what the bonus is worth after its conditions, and how much crypto flexibility there is. The score is an editorial judgement rather than an arithmetic one, and the homepage says so plainly along with the reason we stopped publishing a formula.

Two categories are deliberately kept outside that scoring. Platforms that run their game logic on-chain are covered separately in decentralized casinos, because a licence register has nothing to say about a smart contract. Two things follow from scoring this way, and both are visible in the results. Scores spread: the twelve run from 5.0 down to 1.3, and a low score is a publishable result rather than a reason to drop an operator from the list. And a cell stays empty when nothing could be confirmed — an empty cell is information, and filling it with a plausible number would not be.

Who writes this

Ryan Keeler — editor

Ryan writes the operator coverage and the guides. The work is documentary rather than experiential: terms read clause by clause, licence numbers checked against the Curaçao and Anjouan registers, payout complaints traced back to the dated cases behind them. The verification dataset on this site is his — forty-nine KYC clauses across a hundred brands, of which only five name the sum that triggers a document request.

Nadia Fortin — fact-checker

Nadia checks the part of the work that is checkable, and only that part: that each licence number resolves in the issuing register, that each quoted clause appears in the current version of the operator’s terms, and that each complaint cited is a dated case with a source. She does not score operators and does not write the reviews. Where a check fails the claim comes out of the page rather than being softened — the payout-speed column was removed on her check, and Crypto Loko’s licence is still marked unresolved because two registers disagree and neither could be confirmed as current.

How this site is paid for

Some links here are commercial. If you open an account through one, we may be paid a commission by that operator. This is the site’s only source of income, and it is why the disclosure appears at the top of every page rather than at the bottom of this one.

It does not buy a place in the ranking. What it does mean is that you should not take our word for the order and nothing else, which is why every row carries a licence number you can look up yourself, and why the two operators at the bottom are still listed, still described, and still scored the way the evidence leaves them. The operator at the top of the table is one we are paid by, and it is there for a reason we can show you: it is the only one on the page whose payout we have verified with our own money.

The legal picture, briefly

Canada has no single federal framework for crypto casinos. Ontario has run its own licensed iGaming market since April 2022 under the AGCO; other provinces work through their lottery corporations or take a hands-off view of offshore platforms. No AGCO-registered operator accepts cryptocurrency, which means every crypto casino a Canadian can reach is offshore by definition. Playing at one is not illegal for the player; the operator is simply unregulated here, so there is no provincial complaints process if something goes wrong. This is not legal advice.

When something here is wrong

Terms change, licences lapse and registers are updated, so some of this will go out of date between reviews. Pages carry a published and a last-updated date at the top so you can see how old the check is. If you find a claim that no longer holds — a licence number that has moved, a clause that has been rewritten, a payout experience that contradicts what is here — the correction is worth more to this site than the original claim was.
